We all have the capacity to experience love, trust, inner peace, presence and ecstasy. We just need to practice and sometimes get some support and inspiration. We believe that our world would be a better place if more people would have beautiful experiences together. Sex, intimacy, laughter, playfulness and pleasure is not only wonderful in itself but also provides us with a deeper experience of life, offers healing to emotional wounds and motivates us to change.
We want to create a better existence together and have fun and enjoy while we do it. We believe that to be the best foundation for sustainable development and a more beautiful and harmonious world. This is why we are happy to invite You to the Sexsibility Festival!
To the Sexsibility festival comes both people who have been to several festivals and workshops and also many people who have never done anything like this before. We welcome you regardless of sexual orientation, preference or experience, whether you are single or have one or more partners. That is, whether you see yourself as gay, hetero, bi, queer, girl, man, lady, transsexual, virgin, swinger, single, poly, prude, nudist, fetishist, tantrika, vanilla or other.
All over 18 years are welcome. It is usually a lovely mixed group of open-minded people, of different ages and backgrounds who together create an amazing festival experience. For the tenth consecutive year, we invite you to an intimate festival focused on intimacy, sexuality, body and soul. The festival offers workshops in Sexsibility, Tantra, Taoism, Shamanism, playfulness, spiritual healing and many other things.
Workshops are held by esteemed teachers who have been with us in the past, as well as by new international teachers and Sexsibility coaches. Besides the possibility to take part in inspiring workshops you will find opportunities to explore various sexual expressions, dancing, singing, meeting with new friends and being part of a sharing group.
Go for a date in the cafe or playroom, make out, eat yummy and healthy food, enjoy summer, life and each other. Every Sexsibility Festival offers a unique experience — and yet there is a special atmosphere that characterizes a Sexsibility Festival.
We would describe it as a lovely mix of curiosity, openness, grounding, togetherness and joy. Although sexuality is a natural and essential part of the festival, the focus is to meet ourselves and others with honesty, heart-felt connection and play. It is common that there occurs sexual encounters at the festival, but it usually happens after an emotional meeting took place, perhaps during a workshop.
There are other and better forums for this longing. But if you come to get in touch with your emotions, become more present and experience a deeper encounter with yourself and others — with the help of sexuality — the chances are good for you to have a fantastic festival.
It is important that you can feel safe at the festival. In addition to having competent workshop leaders, there are daily sharing groups and an emotional support team. All participants will also approve the agreements not to use alcohol or other drugs. All that happens during the festival, including who participates, is confidential. The atmosphere between the participants tends to be very supportive, friendly, respectful and inclusive. Like previous years, we will make sure that there is an even balance between men and women at the festival.
Our intention is to create a festival with much safety and community. There is also the opportunity to become aware of, embrace and transform what prevents you from really being with another human. Centrally located is a decorated playroom with mattresses on the floor for play, massage and intimate encounters. In a more secluded part of the festival area there will be a quiet room for silence and meditation. All of theese facilities are open both during and between workshops, to give you more opportunity to do what you want to do.
There will be workshops to explore intimacy through compassionate touch, breathing exercises, healing, conversation, sexual ceremonies and tantric partner exercises. You will get the opportunity to practice communicating, follow your impulses, dare to take the initiative, set boundaries, find your power, be held by another and let go. For those who wish, there is also the opportunity to explore close encounters through all the senses, spanking, ropes and intense sensations.
There will also be dance, yoga, music and meditations on the program as a way to turn inward and be able to integrate your experiences, especially in the mornings and evenings. Information about the workshops, workshop leaders and the program will be presented and updated on this page regularly until the festival start. Information about the workshop leaders and their background will also be available on the information board at the festival area.
All workshops will also be coded so you know how challenging they can be and choose the right one based on how you feel in that moment. The course does not contain the same large variety of exercises and has much fewer participants, but creates a safer and more cohesive space that can be better as a starter. Say YES to your self!
Say YES to life! For questions regarding the festival, please write to us at: Theme for the Festival Empowered Sexuality, is a sexuality where you know what you like, need, feel good about and long for. Not because you figured it out by thinking about it, but because you feel it in your body. As an impulse that you have learned to trust, value and express.
It is about the right to have a healthy sexuality based on respect, lust, joy, pleasure, healing, development and expansion. It is about the right to decide over your own body. The right to feel pleasure, for no other reason than that you simply want to feel pleasure. A sexuality based on consent. Where everyone who participates has said YES to what is happening.
Empowered Sexuality is about stand up and say no,. The list will be updated and replenished, and there may also be changes in the program, so remember to check back for updates. Make that super high, with some… [I sense a drug related joke in there somewhere, but there might be children reading]. You get the point. Long punches, big steps, deep stances, high kicks and loud yells is what Shotokan is all about. Which is exactly why people who have done any of the other three most popular Japanese styles Goju-ryu, Wado-ryu or Shito-ryu have a really hard time adapting to Shotokan because they are so used to small and narrow movements!
Easy peasy, compared to expanding everything. Well, you get more actual training for the same bucks, and it looks way nicer in tournaments and demos.
I once tried performing a whole Shotokan kata, I think it was Gojushiho Dai. Historically, Shotokan Karate has been taught to Westerners by Japanese masters who were sent here to destroy us teach us.
Sure, the same can be said of a few other styles too Shito-ryu springs to mind , but not to the same extent. With most other styles of Karate, Westerners went themselves to Japan instead, learnt some basic Karate and then came back to teach their fellow citizens. Meaning, Shotokan often has an unequalled dojo culture, rarely matched by any other Karate style, when it comes to two things:. Thus, when it comes to discipline and dojo etiquette, correct training mentality and a never-give-up attitude, Shotokan is the way to go.
And believe me when I say that Shotokan has tons of interesting learnings and strange historical gems going on! Ever seen the Shotokan kata Wankan, or Sochin?
And is it true that the names of Gojushiho Sho and Dai were switched in order to not embarrass a famous sensei who mixed them up at a tournament?
And what about Kobudo? Did Funakoshi Gichin really know the bo kata Tenryu no Kon? And that, ladies and germs, concludes my brief breakdown of the four main strengths of Shotokan Karate. Even though it might not be the perfect style for all occasions every branch of the tree has its weak and strong points , a lot of people can benefit from tapping into the knowledge of its four main strengths presented above.
