It was very hands on and gave me so much experience. The balance between work and home was very difficult. Being a newer manager, I worked almost all evenings and late nights.

It was very hard to do with school aged children. Was this review helpful? Kroger is a great company. The typical work week is ever-changing; one will learn a lot there from hiring, coaching and leading good associates to become great. One must dedicated and willing to accept the ever-changing world of Kroger. I have been able to enhance my management and leadership skills through this company. I enjoyed the "behind the scenes work" such as preparing budgets, creating action plans, and setting goals.

This company has exceptional benefits. I love working for this company but unfortunately there just isn't the advancement opportunities I thought there would be. There are a lot of politics involved in advancing.

They make it seem like anyone can do so but in reality they have picked who they want before the interviews ever occur. Great Store Great Location. Would typically work hours. Store Manager was very helpful and i worked well with him. There was no typical work day.

I really enjoyed the flexibility of being able to be off on weekdays however I work all holidays and weekends.

As a Co-manager for the Kroger company gave me the experience a manager goes through each day. Managing and training employees. I learned hard work and dedication pays off! My co-workers were very diverse and always willing to learn. Kroger became challenging after breaking my ankle working and walking on concrete floors daily.

Most enjoyable part of my job was training and developing new employees. Depending on what you're doing, Kroger can be great or terrifying. I held several roles while I was with them, and my overall happiness bounced back and forth.

Fair compensation, and a strong brand to work for. Fast-paced, ever-changing, customer focused operation. The daily routine varies depending on what shift I get, rather it be early from or late from , there are different tasks that need to be completed.

Early morning tasks are to get the store running and prepared for the day. I'll hold a morning huddle with department heads to pass out reports sales, out-of-stocks, Front-End Que, OSAT and discuss these reports with them. Also, a store walk is performed, which consist of collecting go-backs, straightening the store and displays as I go, checking on departments to make sure they are set on time, have the correct things on display, etc.

The late shift routine is basically keeping it all together. A second store walk needs to be performed. Check on departments to make sure things are running well and go over the closing procedures for each department. Of course, I deal with employees problems and concerns. Management is here to make sure company initiatives are implemented correctly, rather it be from an operational or merchandising position, and to ensure that our associates are following the best practices.

Currently I would rate the enjoyment of my career at a 7. The biggest plus to my career is the opportunity for advancement within the company.

In my time here at Kroger I have learned how to better analyze and make use of reports to achieve positve and sustained results within the operation. I have also been able to refine my managerial skills and have learned new ways to empower and motivate my associates. I really enjoy the interactions that I get to have with my customers and associates. Customers are your family. The hardest part of my job is not being able to make sure we satisfy each and every customer.

Also not achieving the company goals on a daily basis. A typical day with Kroger is to make sure that we inform all the employees on sales and other goals that we were supposed to achieve for the day. My employees are great to work with. They have a lot of experience with the customers. My store does do a great job with sales, customers and other goals the company set. Kroger is a good place to work. Kroger is very good at what it does.

The MD1 training program is very thorough but needs work. The workers, including store managers, are so overloaded that I didn't feel like I got the training I should have. I have 14 years experience in the grocery business, and I was stocking shelves as an MD1 trainee. Not very challenging and they give you a lot of busy work. Kroger is a great company to work for.

You learned something everyday at Kroger. We work an average of 10 plus hours a day. The store that I work in has over employees. The biggest challenge is getting them to work together instead of working against each other.

I enjoy my job mainly because of the people aspect and and also I love it because there is a different challenge everyday. Hands on style of management of all the stores. Small box retailer that is stable. Must be hands on and a producer. No one day was the same.

Always something new to experience. The unpredictability was one of the most enjoyable parts of this job. It wasn't about who was doing there job. It was about who she liked or who would be the snitch for her. Manager that would work was'nt seen. I come walk and, talk with each Department to see how the morning is going and see if all associates are here or any call in.

I go to the office read my mail check for conf. I go back downs stairs and walk the sales floor and see what is conditions of the store. Get with Grocery Manager and we will walk each aisle and, look what was miss and fix it. I go back in follow up. Front end is short of help so i' am checking. The hardest part is when you have a Co- Manager or a Store Manager that is not pulling there weight.

Is when a associate tells you thank you for taking out the time to help me. Had too many chiefs telling everybody how to do things their different ways.

Long Hours, Unhappy Management. Very long hours, not appreciated for your work. Upper Manager is not connected with store management. Training program is so-so, what you learn in training is not what is practiced in stores. Preference is always given to internal candidates regardless of experience. Kroger is where I learned about work. A typical day includes looking at every aspect of the store. There are wonderful people there, but there are definitely people in the upper levels who enjoy making life hard on the little guys.

There is opportunity for advancement, but many times it is based on who you know more than the quality of your work. The hardest part of the job was when upper management would come in and accuse you of not doing something appropriately when you just walked in the door for the day. Previous 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Next. Kroger offers thousands of quality food and household products from your favorite brands and companies. From fresh produce, meats and seafood to dairy, home goods…. I am loving the clean, well organized new store.

It is nice that they have an extended selection of organic, natural and soy products! Clean, well organized, always willing to help, great variety, competitive prices, and house the Little Clinic in their store. I work at this store and I shop at this store and the people are so respectful and I wouldn't shop anywhere else unless I absolutely had to.

I love this Kroger! I think they also have free wifi. Also the biggest Kroger I ever been in. This review is for The Little Clinic located inside this Kroger. My daughter was treated here for fever and a sore throat.
