Night back in December, I know this is a long shot but oh well. I have quite a bit of time on my hands while counting the days until Alabama Football starts up again.

The gloves remained in the Russo family until they were purchased several years ago by a California collector who is now selling them. One of those controversial moments that is often coveted by memorabilia collectors. There have been many theories about what exactly happened: Did Liston, an ex-con known as the Big Bear, throw the fight because he was in debt to the mob?
Or did Ali actually deliver a perfectly landed punch? The Lewiston rematch was the first bout in which Ali stepped into the ring as Muhammad Ali after converting to Islam. He was still Cassius Clay a year earlier when he won the championship from Liston in Miami. I wanted to protect the DNA inside of them. Ideally, he would love to see a museum purchase them. Sally and Jamie are extremely communicative. They allowed us to have a later check out so that we could make it to a yoga class in Portland on Sunday morning before we left. The fresh baked goods were delicious thanks! We will certainly come again. Listing was completely accurate and there were even baked good waiting for us - wonderful to not have to go out and find breakfast! The bed was comfortable. It was great to be able to sit out on the deck and read while relaxing.
The location was also awesome to explore many different towns in the area and we found multiple spots for hiking during the weekend. Would certainly stay again! We had an absolutely wonderful time at Minglewood! I agree with what another guest wrote - the incredible charm and peace of this place doesn't fully come across in pictures.
We walked in and felt instantly comfortable and welcomed. The woodstove was fully stocked with firewood and kindling, and made the whole place glow with warmth; the muffins, coffee cake, fruit, coffee complete with half and half , yogurt, and orange juice Jamie and Sally left were all incredibly kind touches; and we thoroughly enjoyed using the projector to watch some movies on the "big screen. I could imagine coming back here again and again, and could not recommend it more highly for any prospective guests looking for a little oasis!
The hosts are so sweet and lovely, and because this was their first time they are so willing to be helpful. Such a beautiful home and location right on the like and I was so grateful they were so welcoming to my beloved pets and me.
It will be forever be a great memory!! Tere and Judy were charming people. They stayed late to open the door for us and welcome us, which was thouhhtful of them. The lake near the house was lovely. However, I was disappointed to see molds in the fridge and the bed's mattress was sinking as I was sleeping on it which made me uncomfortable and hard to sleep. It definitely is old and needs to be replaced. The place was a bit overcrowded especially the bathroom, not to my taste.
What a great place to stay! Beautiful decorated and a great location at the lake! You stay with superhosts! Such a fun couple. This was an amazing place to stay-super clean and spacious. The hostess was also amazing at communication.
Marcia is right on top of her communication and hospitality! I would recommend staying at her location if you want a safe and well thought out stay away from home. Anyone wanting to avoid the busyness and cost of Portland give this Airbnb a try!
Marcia was a wonderful host answered all our questions promptly and gave lots of suggestions! Her place was beautiful and far exceeded all expectations! We will be back! Beautiful place to stay! The attention to detail was tremendous and the apartment was beyond all my expectation!
If we live in the area it would be a great place for a retreat from the rush of big city Pace! We had a great time with a great host! Marcia was an amazing host! Her home was beautiful!
We arrived late to town and she was so accommodating and helpful! It was an amazing first time air bnb experience. She really goes all out. Great place to stay! Had a nice map to a walking trail nearby and local places nearby. Place was clean with everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay! It was easy to check in, sparkling clean and the decor was so cute! We were amazed at how clean and cute everything was. There were very thoughtful touches like milk, cereal and oatmeal as well as coffee.
We met Marcia the day after we arrived and she was very nice and welcoming. There was a very useful notebook with local things to do and places to eat. We will definitely stay again!! This place is great for a romantic getaway in a small town only 35 mins from Portland. The house is comfortable and cozy. Dan left breakfast for us in the fridge, and also made the washer and dryer available, that was awesome!
The temperature inside was always cozy! The many flocks of ducks and other birds were fun to watches as they fed on schools of small fish The location was in the country but still close enough to restaurants and shopping. Neighbors were very friendly. If you like the lake life, this is the place for you. Cute bungalow with access to the lake. My son caught and released a large mouth bass in the lake. Dan's lakehouse is perfect! My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our time here.
Very quiet area, great scenery. Dan's lake house has everything you need for a simple and relaxing weekend. He's also very responsive and willing to make most accomodations. I didn't use the boat but I fished off the dock for a while and it was awesome that I had the chance to enjoy that. The front stairs might be a little too much for some people but we did not mind.
Dan's place was great! My friends and I had a great time chilling out on the deck, the view from it was really pretty. We also enjoyed sitting on the dock by the lake and taking the boat out. Evenings were nice and relaxed either watching movies or sitting around the fire. All in all, we had a nice, relaxing weekend! Great little get away spot in an area with lots to offer within a relatively short drive!
Dan's communication was very timely and efficient. He was an excellent host and I would certainly recommend staying here and will most definitely come back! It is very spacious for two, perfectly located and has all amenities needed. It feels very private as you have the whole house to yourself, no one else lives on the premises.
The view is beautiful, and the terrace and firepit are amazing features. We were welcome into a warm embrace of Katie and Rockies pash charming cabin.
Imdiately a scene of relaxation washed over me and my 3 companions. We had journeyed for hours from NYC not knowing what to expect, although we were nervous driving through dark foggy woods, our nervousness was belayed. Everything from the warmth of the cottage to the amenities provides for all the confort needed for a relaxed and a calm stay. Everything from the games to the book of poetry. Thank you for the home away from home stay.
We appreciate all of the accommodations, specially the private yoga class. We enjoyed it and loved it. We highly recommend this to everyone.
We had a great visit to this idyllic cabin in the woods. We felt at home immediately. We had to arrive really late but the place was all ready for us, and we met Rocky and Katey the following day -- they were very welcoming, and steered us to the best breakfast spot in Norway. Took a walk with our son around the pond, in the late after noon sun, lighting up the water and the forest Hated to have to leave.
We'd come back in a heartbeat. Such a wonderful weekend. I came to have a couple of quiet days away from the city, and that is exactly what I found.
The hosts were wonderful - greeting me with eggs and fresh veggies from their garden - and the accommodations were very well kept and cozy as could be. The perfect Maine experience. This was a beautiful stay, received a warm and wonderful welcome when I arrived and was made to feel right at home.
So close to such a beautiful hike around the pond and up the nearby mountain. Town is easy to get to with grocery stores and restaurants. So peaceful, such a lovely place, hated to leave. Amazing cabin on a beautiful piece of land! Rocky and Katey were accommodating hosts and their cabin was the perfect home base for our Maine adventure.
Peaceful and secluded, we relaxed in the evenings and hiked the wonderful wooded trail around the pond in the mornings. We saw plenty of stars and even some lightning bugs.
A close drive to the coast and the mountains, I would definitely recommend their place to see real, rustic Maine in between lobster rolls! After a day's journey in the mountains, there was nothing more welcoming than the sight of Kathy and Rocky's cabin. Kathy gave us a wonderful introduction to the place and taught us how to use the wood stove, which toasts up the entire cabin. It was stocked with all the amenities you'd require and more.
My friends and I were all incredibly comfortable and felt right at home. Nearby is Halls Pond where we spent hours ice skating on and watching people ice fish. I highly recommend exploring the area as there are numerous trails and adventures to be had. Overall, an amazing stay and would love to come back for longer! The cottage was perfect and just what we needed.
Just enough space, just the right amenities, and a wonderful dog friendly space. We loved it… It was clean, easy to access, convenient, and the fenced in yard was a great plus. We look forward to staying again and again! This was a great cosy space in the middle of some very snowy weather!
Danielle had left some thoughtful touches- and if you have a dog you seriously do not need to bring a thing! Fenced yard a big bonus, Moody had so much fun. Danielle's place is very cozy. I think what stood out the most was all of the updated fixtures and efforts to make it warm and cozy.
The mattress was excellent, very comfortable bedding, The kitchen appliances and shower fixtures have all been updated in this quaint home. My dog loved the fenced-in backyard and the little bit of freedom it provided off leash. Danielle was responsive to questions about the TV and anything else I inquired about throughout my stay. A lovely and courteous owner.
Danielle goes out of her way to make the little house homey, cozy, convenient, and comfortable! We had a lovely stay at Danielle's. It is perfect for a dog friendly stay. The area is lovely for walking and there is quite a lot to explore! Thanks for the hospitality! Lovely and nice, you will enjoy your time there! Isabella is very inviting and wants her guests to be happy.
You can expect excellent communication and accommodation. Isabella was an absolutely phenomenal hostess! She was kind, communicative, detailed, and helpful. The space was spotless and the beds were nicely decorated. Everything felt comfortable and we had a terrific stay! We couldn't be more pleased with our experience! Her place has everything that we needed. Great place to stay!! Andrea is a very accommodating host. A really great place to stay if you're in Augusta or central Maine.
You can see the Kennebec river from your balcony and you're only a block from shopping and dining on the riverfront in old Hallowell. A great value with a great hostess. I will definitely stay again. Andrea's place is great! It is absolutely adorable and a great place for traveling students or professionals. I would absolutely stay again in the future. Very convenient location for visiting Common Ground Fair or the coast. Andrea was very quick to respond and helpful. It was clean and comfortable with many nice touches!
The city has a small town feel next to the river. The room was in the attic but felt a lot like a master suite with its own living room and private balcony.
The balcony on the third floor offered great views of the town and river. Andrea took extra care in making me feel relaxed and care for in her home. She was warm and welcoming. Andrea's house was lovely. The private one bedroom rental was wonderful and spacious. It was affordable, clean and it is situated in a safe residential area. Her place is centrally located in Hallowell. It is near Augusta, Gardener and the Coast.
I enjoyed my stay, my room and bed was comfortable. I also had the opportunity to see her other wonderful historical rooming house; I would definitely recommend her place and stay at her place in the future. The cabin was very clean and neat. Has fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and couch. Great views of the pond from inside the cabin. Just few steps and you are on the water.
Parking is right outside the door which is great. Host is great, thanks for making our first airbnb enjoyable. We really enjoyed our stay. We were there for 8 days and it was a little difficult being without a cell phone or wifi as we had to drive for a bit to get a signal but for a weekend or a shorter stay it wouldn't be that much of an issue.
We got a weak signal on the corner of the porch out back but not enough for a phone call. It is very quiet and peaceful and perfect for the areas we wanted to visit. About 30 minutes to Freeport, 45 minutes to Portland. Augusta was just a quick shot and had everything as far as groceries that we needed. If you are not from the area I would recommend you purchase an EZPass to go through the tolls on I if you will be traveling a lot.
We would definitely stay there again! What a lovely location to get away! We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Basic cabin with basic needs. This is a cozy and beautiful place to stay. It is just 15 minutes from the very charming town of Hallowell, and sarounded by the Winthrop lakes region. We had a great time in this little cabin. You should note that if you happen to have a fragrance allergy this place may be challenging as there are a lot of air fresheners, sented oils, and candles.
The host is very accommodating, however, and had no problem with us removing these for our stay. He was also very quick to respond to messages. The cabin is in a great location just off the highway right next to a pond. Isolated enough to feel like you're away on vacation but a close enough drive to do anything you'd want to. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. Perfect amount of space for two people to get away. We were there on a weekend with a snowstorm and -9 degree weather. The cabin was perfectly warm and Stephen was great at communicating for plowing the driveway.
In all it was a great and easy experience. Steve's cabin was very nice. The pictures do not do justice for how beautiful the view was and how well thought out the cabin was. It had everything we needed to have a wonderful and relaxing weekend getaway!
Absolutely gorgeous, perfect little romantic getaway. Has everything you need to be comfortable, great view of the water, fully equipped kitchen and grill. Stephen's place is clean, cozy, and quaint. It sits on an adorable pond which makes for beautiful and serene views.
It is in a rural area but it not completely secluded. The small town of Gardiner is nearby for amenities as are the main roads. There is no service at the cottage so phones do not work, but it was a welcome respite for me. Basic cable is there with a nice new flat screen. Stephen's place was a perfect home base for me and my mid coast Maine adventures.
Lincoln Street is a comfortable, stylish, conveniently located apartment in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is stocked with utensils you would need to prepare an eat in meal.
There is one off street parking space for your use which is a great benefit in a busy downtown area. Downtown Brunswick is one block away, providing you with great coffee, good restaurants, and some unique shopping. Great hosts and timely communication.
I had a really early morning flight and fell asleep at the last moments before boarding my cross country flight. I did not get in until after midnight and it was 1 degrees. They had the heater going for me and pointed me to the nearest They helped a stressed day become a better night. Simon and Sam's Little House on Lincoln is a perfect spot.
Sam and Simon were super quick with replies from txt and from email. Spacious one bedroom located just two blocks from Main St. Comfortable furnishings, although no TV. Excellent communication from the host. If you are okay with the shoe policy, the lack of a TV and air conditioning, the apartment is an excellent value. It was quiet, clean and very convenient to local transportation and restaurants.
You can walk to and from the Amtrak and bus station. Great place to stay if you don't have a car. This is an fantastic place in great location. Stayed here for 3 nights with my fiance on our first trip to Maine. Excellent layout, privacy, decor and super clean. Everything is as described. Our stay was super comfortable and Simon communicated everything to make sure the entire experience was smooth and convenient.
He even recommended a ton of places to check out which was very thoughtful and helpful. Great location in downtown Brunswick close enough to Portland, Freeport, Bath, Harpswell, etc to serve as a base to explore a large portion of Maine. This is a superb value as well and I highly recommend it. It was very positive, Bill and Alane were very accomodating, but let us come and go as we pleased, like it was our own home.
They made delicious muffins the last morning and left them for us. I will return if my travels take me that way, and they'd have us back. You will not be disappointed with this cozy abode. Very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this lovely spot without reservation.
Bill and Alene are great hosts! Excellent communication from start to finish. The place is clean and comfortable, all exactly as described. I highly recommend this getaway - would stay there again! The hosts made us feel very welcome. Alene cooked us wonderful muffins on several occasions. Overall very nice and welcoming. A small family of will fit nicely in these accommodations. The studio is part of a beautiful property with beautiful water views from the deck in a pristine and quiet neighborhood.
The studio was super clean and they provide everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. They were extremely kind hosts with outstanding and open communication. We will be retuning to this rental property in the future.
Bill came right outside to greet us as we pulled into the driveway; after a tour of the suite, he made himself scarce, but was only a knock on his home's door away. He nicely communicated w us via email throughout our stay - offering fresh-baked Maine blueberry muffins! The setting is classic Maine: We could smell the salty air, as well as some delicious scent from the gardens all around the house. I think the best part of our stay was lying in bed in the morning, w windows on three sides of the room open, smelling Maine!
Alane and Bill were marvelous hosts, and the accommodations perfect. Clean, spacious, comfy bed, etc. Centrally located amongst all the gorgeous vistas and delicious lobster rolls Harpswell and its adjoining islands have to offer. When I mentioned I was taking a field trip to Waterville, Alane guided me to great local stores and hikes in that area, too, and even invited me to spend some time at their lake cottage in the vicinity.
I did not get there, nor to everything she recommended, but that just means another trip is in order. Also, on the off chance the area's fresh seafood does not fill you up, Alane offered me some fantastic homemade treats during my stay. I rolled my very happy self on home: Everything was beyond expectations! The cabin, studio and land were beautiful. We had a great time and Terrill was a great host.
Plenty to see and do in the area and the home is well stocked with games and all the necessities for a very comfortable stay. Will definitely be back! Terrill was a wonderful host, and the cabin was even better than we expected. We're already planning our next visit! Terrill and Charlie are wonderful hosts: These folks have the best deal ever. Not only is this sweet cabin there for their friends and guests, but their home and work is there as well!
The cabin is as close to camping as you can get with no mosquitoes, a comfortable bed, and a composting toilet.
Plus a lovely garden, a small pond and a beautiful river. What's not to like about that!!! We will definitely be back for winter sports when that time comes! The cabin is beautifully appointed with great rustic design touches here and there. We loved waking up in the morning, making a coffee and then spotting frogs and turtles as we walked around the pond.
We stayed at the Merrymeeting cabin in late September and it was wonderful. It is a beautiful and clean space with a comfortable bed lofted in the cabin. The hosts make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable.
Great recommendations for lots to do nearby and also well set up for relaxing in a hammock by the pond. Great guidebook, great communication and great attention to detail.
We would come back in a heartbeat and wish we were still there right now! Thanks again for the great stay! If you are looking for a scenic, quiet, peaceful place while traveling in Maine, don't miss this! The cabin is gorgeous, roomy, full of light and beautiful views and has everything you need for a comfy stay. It's so peaceful and quiet at night, and the pond and land are a lovely sight to take in on a stroll or just sitting outside.
We made fires by the pond both nights we stayed and really felt at ease here. Terrill and Charley's studio next to the cabin is huge and amazing and offers easy, private access to a beautiful bathroom for showers. It was truly a heavenly little place.
Highly recommend it if you are traveler who can "rough it" in simple ways. The composting toilet in the cabin bathroom was clean, easy to use, and everything you needed to be comfortable in the space.
The location is also convenient to many great little spots in the area and 30 minute drive to some of the bays and harbors near by. We wish we could've stayed longer. Can't say enough how much we loved it. Such a wonderful place, I can't wait to return! Gorgeous, spacious, clean cabin, in a profoundly peaceful environment, with hosts that were wonderful to talk with and very helpful but never intrusive.
Beautiful property, cozy' well stocked cabin, and interesting, friendly hosts. What more could you ask for? And that wood fired pizza oven! A truly wonderful stay! Kathleen has a great space in the country, with more than enough room for 2 people. It is very clean and has its own entry. Close enough to the highway, and a cute ice cream place. Kathleen herself was a delight and I highly recommend her place.
Kathy goes out of her way to meet our needs. She is friendly and we would be happy to stay there on our next trip to Maine! We had a great stay with Kathleen! The place was clean, cutely decorated and we had our own bathroom and private entrance.
If we had questions or wanted recommendations of places to eat, she was quick to respond. The room and private bath was exceptional.
I was impressed with the attention and thought to detail Kathleen puts into everything. Better than I expected. So nice to come to a lodging and find a clean, large room with a bed welcoming to a much needed sleep. Kathellen's place is like staying at my favorite aunt's place - I could live here the whole summer long!
Very clean and open space with attached private bath. We knew we would be arriving late and Kathleen was very accommodating of our late arrival.
Coffee, tea, water and snacks available in the room. The location is a bit remote - as noted in the listing. Be sure to follow Kathleen's directions to the house. There was construction on the road to the house and Kathleen gave us very accurate directions to detour around the construction. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, please be sure to note that this is NOT a non-smoking room. Jani was super helpful with suggestions of places to go. We spend the day at Sebago Lake nearby and picked up picnic supplies at the Good Life Market, both great places.
Wish we had more time to stay and chat, the area was very peaceful. Love going here and when i can i try and get her rooms from the TVs in the room to the ease of coming and going and the fresh breakfast goodies, highly reccommend.
Jani's cottage was relaxing throughout. The room, kitchen use, laundry, fire pit and breakfast homemade yummies. If you are comfortable to share bathroom with other guests, you will enjoy staying at Jani's cottage. Jani is an amazing host, and the cousin's room is so lovely that I wish we could've stayed a little longer. She made sure that we had a smooth check-in by leaving detailed instructions for us.
The room is nicely decorated and we were supplied with plenty of tourist information as well. The bathroom is clean and stocked with plenty of cosmetics. There is even a nice back porch where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
It was a very enjoyable experience and I would love to be back the next time I visit the area! The Cousins Room was glorious! My daughter and I spent 3 nights and felt so comfortable there - we were sad to leave! Jani was a wonderful host - welcoming, and yet gave us plenty of space. The home baked goods left in the kitchen for us every morning were amazing To do a load of laundry and feel the spirit of Jani's genuine generosity was perfect.
We can't wait to come back xo. Great location for a home base while you explore the area, or a place to spend the night as you travel farther afield. Comfortable, homey farmhouse with a self-serve kitchen and everything we needed. We stayed in the Cousins Room which had two beds, a sofa, comfortable chair, and plenty of room. Jani was very responsive before and during our stay, and she provided homemade baked goods for us and the other guests each morning.
It felt like we were staying with family. The accommodations were comfortable an the location was very convenient for our purpose in the area. Jane is a very good host. She provided us with everything we needed. Great place to stop by if you're traveling around Maine. Thank you for welcoming us into your home!
Everything was awesome from excellent communication from Danielle, super easy check-in, clean welcoming space with plenty of personal touches and the bed was sooo comfy! We highly recommend booking with Danielle. Her home is super cute and comfortable. We loved our stay at Danielle's home! It was clean and so cozy, and absolutely perfect for our weekend away.
Their adorable home was full of homey touches balanced with hotel-like cleanliness. Things were smooth from the get go- the combo lock on the front door made it easy to enter without fear of losing a key I literally lose everything.
Their home was clean, bright, and inviting and cozy all at once. Plenty of space for us to spread out and so convenient to have a washer and dryer handy!
We spent the weekend at a wedding and we're back and forth a lot, and it literally just felt like coming home each night. Would absolutely recommend for couples, families, or small groups for a quick getaway! This is a great little Air BnB that exceeded my expectations. Danielle was super communicative, and there were lots of little details that made the house extra special.
I come up to Auburn once a month and will definitely book again! Danielle was great at seeing if we needed anything and made sure we felt right at home.
Everything was neat and clean, and she made sure we had everything we needed! Thank you again, Danielle, for sharing your lovely home with us weary travelers! I found Michelle to be a one-a-kind host, i. Her uncommonly gracious nature; genuine hospitality; the special touches she bestows upon her guests; and, her quick response to my inquiries combined to make my long stay at the sweet Little House in the Big Pines in Livermore, Maine, unexpectedly seamless, comfortable and pleasant.
I highly recommend Michelle as a caring, conscientious, and personable host and would definitely book with her again in future at any of her accommodations. The house was everything the listing said it would be and was very comfortable. The coffee Michelle provided from her micro roasting company was delicious! A very nice touch to our stay! Her response time was appreciated and we really enjoyed her cottage. It was clean and decorated in happy colors!
We appreciated the screened in porch too. Really a good reasonable price. It is a wonderful place to get away and enjoy the peace and quite that nature has to offer! A lovely home in a beautiful location! Michelle was amazing with her friendly and helpful responses. She was very attentive, but not intrusive during my stay. Always available if I needed her. The lake was beautiful and I had everything I needed during my stay! She even left me some provisions so I didn't need to rush out to the grocery store too early in the morning.
I'd love to stay again sometime! Michelle and her place are amazing. The place was adorable, comfortable, and clean. I would definitely recommend it for a private get away. Rebekah met us at the airport and drove us home - we were very impressed! The apartment had everything we needed, including a fast wifi. Overall, we were happy with our stay. Excellent hosts and apartment. I was supposed to call a bit before we arrived, so they would know when to expect us, but I forgot.
But they were waiting outside with a roaring campfire when we rode up, welcomed us as friends and helped us get our bikes safely stored, and showed us to our apartment. What a great place. The bed was so comfortable we slept for about 10 hours straight.
My only regret was not being able to hang out with them at the campfire because we were so exhausted from not going to bed the night before. Rebekah and Matt, you guys were great hosts, and I wish you all the best of luck with your art gallery.
Rebekah and Matt were great hosts! My friends and I arrived fairly late after 9pm and Rebekah greeted us with open arms. The apartment is in a cozy neighborhood, and the inside is certainly artsy! Rebekah and Matt stocked the fridge with all sorts of snacks in case we got hungry too.
The bed and futon were comfortable, and they also had plenty of towels for the 4 of us to shower. It's a shame we had to leave bright and early the next morning - we would've definitely like to have stayed additional nights! We hugely enjoyed staying in Rebekkah and Matt's guest apartment and our brief meeting with them and their wonderful and lively son Oliver.
They gave us excellent advice about the region. The apartment was quiet, spacious and very nicely decorated, and within easy walking distance from the river and from the commercial district with excellent restaurants, coffee shops, bars, stores, etc.
Kind, courteous, generous and helpful!! I would highly recommend this property on any night we aren't there!! Great little stop on the way to Acadia! Rebekah was super accommodating, especially of our late night arrival. Place is clean and has everything we needed. Hope to have more time to admire the paintings next time! Very cozy and cute. You'll feel right at home. Everything you need is provided for a good stay.
If you'd like to test out life in a tiny home, the Harper-Joy home is for you. It has an off-the-grid vibe, but with excellent wifi! Tarsha is a wonderful host, even inviting us for breakfast. We felt warmly welcomed and you will too. Tarsha and her family are wonderful hosts! They were exceptionally accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. From the moment we stepped onto the front porch their entire family made us feel right at home including their loving, furry babies!
The Harper Joy Tiny House is well-equipped, cozy, and actually provides a lot more living space than other tiny homes I've seen. As someone who completely endorses tiny-home living, I would want anyone who experiences it for the first time to know that, as long as you research and understand how to properly use a composting toilet, tiny-house living does not have a stench.
The rental is set just next door to the host's home and they gave us all the privacy we wanted, but Tarsha was immediate in responding to us whenever we had a question. Thank you all for being such great hosts! If you want a convenient location in the lakes region of Maine and your own space for a super good price then this place is for you. Check in was so quick and easy and your hosts are ready to answer any questions.
It's a quiet and peaceful place with woods around three sides. There is a heater, hot water pump and an air conditioner for your comfort. The compost toilet was easy. I had a hard time climbing the ladder to the loft bed because of the round tube rungs for my feet but the sofa opens up to a bed and there are plenty of extra blankets and towels.
It was a new experience staying in a tiny home but I encourage you to try it. There are even a few chairs to sit on the small front porch. I felt super safe and relaxed. Plenty of parking for your car. Remember to leave the porch light on if you are coming home after dark to help you get up steps to front door. The hosts are more than willing to accommodate your every need and want you to have a great time in Maine. We arrived a little later than expected and Tarsha was super easy to stay in communication with, so it was very stress-free.
This place is super cute! There's a lot of trees and nature surrounding, but it's just outside of their house. Tarsha is really nice, she even let me borrow her hair straightener. It is a tiny house, so it's pretty small, if that's not your style.
We really liked it! If you arrive at night, be sure to leave lights off while the door is open because bugs will get in. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The host was amazing and answered any question I had immediately. The cabin was clean and had all of the amenities needed and more! The location is right on the lake and equipped with a fire pit, gas grill, and two kayaks. Perfect for any couple looking to get away for a bit! We loved our stay at this cabin! There was a cute sign and wine and overall it was a lovely experience.
We had a wonderful time here. It was such a nice location directly by the water. There was a cute little back yard with a fire pit and grill to hang out by and kayaks which we took full use of paddling around the little islands.
The cabin was small but super comfortable and has everything you need for a perfect getaway in Maine, including falling asleep to the sound of loons at night.
I loved our time here and hope to come back again! We had such a great stay at the cabin, cute and cozy is exactly the right description. The personalized welcome sign and bottle of wine we're a great touch that really made us feel welcomed. Away from it all, and yet close enough that we went into town daily for a few groceries and a take-out meal.
I can't say enough and I hope to visit again. This place is a total gem! So relaxing and truly cozy! We loved spending the tail end of our vacation at the cozy cabin!!! The owners are very thoughtful, cabin was amazing, and the water was spectacular.
We loved this place. Kimberly and Charmaine provided such a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our 6th anniversary! Then location was perfect—we were within driving distance of many quaint towns, which provided a wonderful antique-ing opportunity. The lake was luxurious, and we were thankful for the fire pit, grill and use of kayaks.
We even caught a glimpse of the local wildlife—loons, a bald eagle with chicks, plus a beautiful view from the lake! We would definitely stay here again! Michael's place was clean and quaint with excellent cookware. He was courteous and kind and the stat was quiet and relaxing. Would definitely come back again! We hardly ever take the time to leave such a thorough review. But after many disappointments with vacation rentals We would give it TEN stars if we could!
As an active duty military family, we travel often and frequently use AirBnB and Hidden by Airbnb for to find a place to stay for our family of six instead of staying in a cramped and pricey hotel. The home was incredibly clean, the beds were comfortable, the bath linens were fluffy and clean, there was ample air conditioning in the heat of the summer, the kitchen had everything we needed and then some.
I loved the personal touches; and how fun that many of the art and decor in the home was available for purchase if we desired! Those extra touches made our first night after a long road trip that much more enjoyable without having to run out to the store for some of the essentials.
Michael and his wife were very friendly, and we felt very welcome upon check-in and were offered advice about fun things to do in the area and suggestions for maximizing our time sightseeing in Maine. We didn't realize that the flagship L. Bean store was nearby, but after hearing that suggestion, we squeezed in a fun outing and enjoyed shopping nearby in Freeport, which wasn't even on our radar. We were also close to Portland and enjoyed exploring that area as well. The hosts were the perfect balance of being welcoming and also giving us our privacy, too.
After check-in, they were mostly out of sight. But when we did reach out with a question, we were answered immediately. We enjoyed our own little hideaway in Auburn thoroughly and our only regret is that we wish we could've stayed longer.
It was perfect, the hosts were perfect, and we highly recommend staying at Herb's House! This proved to be a great home away from home, comfortable and plenty of room.
