Beyond the many amenities and serenity of the homes, the Via Elegante team went above and beyond to welcome, transition and increase enrichment in Via Elegante stood out head and shoulders above the rest When I was touring facilities for the best place for Jane to live, Via Elegante stood out head and shoulders above the rest. I just knew it would be a good fit for her. That initial impression has held true through five years. What genius to have an art show and benefit at Via Elegante. It has given Jane such pride to have her art Both of us have been embraced by the entire community during a difficult trial with Martha's health in recent weeks.
To know that Mom is receiving quality care and assistance that far exceeds my expectations is priceless and heartwarming. The community and family environment gives me the strength, support and peace of mind to get through About Me What types of assignments have you worked? Seeking new challenges and opportunities, I left the Communications Section in for my current position in the Community Resources Unit. The thing that I like most about my job is the opportunity it provides to interact with the community in a positive way.
From something as small as helping a caller find crime statistics on our website to something larger like helping with our annual back to school event, Badges and Backpacks, I get to leave work every day knowing that I helped someone. What's one thing you would like the public to know about your job? I would like the public to know that although we are a law enforcement agency, our workforce is made up of an even mix of deputies, corrections officers and civilian employees.
About Me What is your favorite part of working for the Sheriff's Department? I enjoy coming to work every day with the amount of camaraderie that is experienced. My co-workers are like a second family. Corrections is not a profession that is praised or talked about, but what people do not realize is that as Corrections Officers we assist people with services available while incarcerated, and encourage them to become positive members of society. What is the most challenging part of your job?
It is a different world that most people are not accustomed to or understand. We deal with real situations and real people, all of whom have a variety of different issues that need to be solved. Every situation is different and has a different solution. About Me What did you do before working for the Sheriff's Department?
I got a position at the Marana Community Correctional Treatment facility. I only worked in that capacity for 3 months before I got hired on at the Pima County Jail in January of I was promoted to Deputy in February of I think the most challenging part of my job is organizing large scale searches. These searches often run for several days and require a lot of resource management.
These individuals must be given assignments that are appropriate for their skill set. They are interviewed after each assignment to determine how much of the area they were given was searched. These individuals also need to be fed and housed during a search operation.
These are all responsibilities of the SAR Deputy. My job IS the best job in the department. It requires intense training and dedication but is highly rewarding. No other position that I have had in law enforcement has been appreciated by those we serve, so deeply.
Seeing a family member reunited with their loved one after being missing for several days is an experience that will stay with me forever.
